Budget Challenges

Colleague:
As we move into a troubling budget situation, I am committed to keeping everyone fully informed about our challenges. In this context, please read VP Rosemary Martinez’ memo regarding the extent of the budget problem we are now facing.
Also [below] is a useful review of “principles for financial crisis management” which contains a good deal of sage advice.
As we plan to meet these challenges, I will be holding informational meetings across campus designed to keep you informed about the strategies we are considering to deal with this severe cut in state resources.
We are an innovative and creative institution and I am confident that we will weather this storm not only intact but even better because we will be focused even more intently on our core mission: student success.
