Larry Lof, Professor Emeritus
One of the greatest privileges of serving at a university is the ability to work alongside talented people who have great passion for our mission. The UT System honored one such individual recently by naming him Professor Emeritus. Last November, Lawrence Lof became only the 11th person to receive the emeritus title at UT Brownsville.
It was a rare opportunity to honor Larry, who is known to shy away from publicity, preferring instead to quietly hike through the unique ecosystems of the world or uncover the tales hidden in forgotten historic buildings. So when I had the chance during Spring Convocation to recognize him as Professor Emeritus, I savored every moment of sharing his accomplishments.
Please join me in congratulating Larry and thanking him for continuing to lend his expertise to our work.
