Development Plan
Year 1
- To establish C.B.S.
- To recruit and hire a minimum of 4 faculty members.
- To begin securing funds from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other funding agencies and individuals. This includes applications for funds dedicated to:
- Build the Center infrastructure.
- Develop individual research projects.
- To establish collaborations with research-intensive institutions.
- To create a seminar series of recognized scientists.
- To propose and submit new academic programs for approval.
Year 2
- To recruit and hire at least 2 Center faculty members.
- To increase Center funding from NIH and other funding agencies and individuals (a minimum of two grant applications a year is expected from C.B.S. faculty members.)
- To continue and expand seminar series of recognized scientists.
- To create local, regional and national conferences in diverse biomedical areas.
- To initiate building and remodeling of existing facilities.
Year 3
- To recruit and hire at least 2 Center faculty members.
- To increase Center funding from NIH and other funding agencies and individuals.
- To continue and expand seminar series of recognized scientists.
- To continue local, regional and national conferences in diverse biomedical areas.
- To develop curriculum for a Ph.D. program in biomedical sciences.
- To complete building and remodeling.
Year 4
- To recruit and hire at least 2 Center faculty members.
- To increase Center funding from NIH and other funding agencies and individuals.
- To continue and expand of seminar series of recognized scientists.
- To continue local, regional and national conferences in diverse biomedical areas.
- To make application for centers of excellence in appropriate biomedical areas.
- To form a committee on Ph.D. studies to ensure establishment of a suitable environment to carry out doctoral studies.
Year 5
- To recruit and hire at least 2 Center faculty members.
- To increase Center funding from NIH and other funding agencies and individuals.
- To continue and expand of seminar series of recognized scientists.
- To continue local, regional and national conferences in diverse biomedical areas.
- To submit application for a Ph.D. program.
- To Develop new applications for centers of excellence in appropriate biomedical areas.
