What is a Graduation Coach?
The Graduation Coach assists students with one-on-one sessions that focus on strengths, goals, study skills, engagement, performance, and academic planning.
What is the difference between Academic Advisement and the Graduation Coach?
Academic Advisors provide students with official degree plans, course recommendations, class registrations as well as ensuring students comply with the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) university policy. The Graduation Coach will also review degree plans and course recommendations, but can offer more one-on-one time with students to assist with academic, social, financial, and interpersonal needs.
Who can receive graduation coaching?
This service is available to all UTB students. Appointments are recommended but walk-ins are always accepted.
How does graduation coaching help students?
The Graduation Coach serves as a resource for students to reconnect with through reflection, goal setting, planning, and individual support. By assessing current study habits, strengths, levels of engagement, and other student data, the foundation is set for learning and improvement. (Robinson & Gahagan, 2010)
