Student-athletes need to sign a degree plan and declare a major with an Academic Advisor. All schools and colleges have Academic Advisors assigned to students majoring in specific degrees. For more information visit the Academic Advising website.
International student-athletes should meet with Aragelia Salazar, International Specialist for International Students. Ms. Salazar is the designated UTB/TSC school official and can help with questions or concerns regarding immigration policies and regulations.
Financial Aid has a website where students can get information regarding deadlines, grants and scholarships available.
It is important for all UTB/TSC students to check their UTB webmail. This email address is the official email that the university uses to send important information to students, from financial aid status to campus alerts.
UTB/TSC is affiliated with Red River Athletics and National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
To be eligible to play, student-athletes need to meet the NAIA Eligibility Requirements as well as the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) at UTB/TSC. Student-athletes can check their SAP status in Scorpion Online under Academic Profile, SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS (S.A.P.). Student-athletes should check their Academic Standing every semester after grades are due and before each semester starts.
- Maintain a minimum of 2.0 cumulative GPA (grade point average)
- Minimum of a 70% completion rate (hours taken)
- Students can only withdraw from classes six (6) times during their academic career
