Biography:
Dr. Sheila Dooley is Assistant Professor in the English Department and teaches linguistics, grammar, and composition. She earned her doctoral degree in linguistics at Lund University in Sweden, and has taught at universities in Sweden, New Zealand, and the United States. Before joining the faculty of UTB, she taught linguistics and ESL at the University of Arizona, where she also coordinated summer pre-academic orientation programs for international Fulbright and Hubert Humphrey Scholars at the Center for English as a Second Language (CESL). Her research interests include language typology, second language acquisition, and the syntax of verb-initial languages.
