UTB/TSC Flute Studio
Welcome to the UTB/TSC Flute Studio’s new web site!
The UTB/TSC Flute Studio is an active and growing studio whose members are dedicated to achieving excellence as musicians, flutists, and music educators. Flute students in the UTB/TSC Flute Studio currently come from across the Rio Grande Valley, South Texas, and even Mexico.
The UTB/TSC Music Department offers Bachelor of Music degree programs in Music Education and Performance, and a Master of Music degree in Music Education. UTB/TSC music majors receive a well-rounded music education with courses in applied music, music theory, music history, instrumental methods, education, and conducting, which prepare them to become effective music educators and professional performers. The UTB/TSC Music Department boasts a 100% pass rate on the Texas state teacher’s licensure exam (TeXes) and a 100% job placement rate for music education majors after graduation!
All UTB/TSC flute students (music majors and minors) receive a weekly private lesson with Dr. Ballatori, and attend a weekly Studio Class where they perform for each other, and discuss special topics related to flute performance and teaching. Additional flute classes include a weekly Scales/Technique Class and Piccolo Class.
UTB/TSC flute students have the opportunity to perform in a variety of ensembles including the Rio Bravo Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, UTB/TSC Symphony Orchestra, UTB/TSC Flute Choir, chamber ensembles, Mariachi Escorpion, Scorpio Consort, and many more.
The UTB/TSC Flute Studio is always looking to welcome new members! If you are interested in studying flute at UTB/TSC, please contact Dr. Cristina Ballatori, and check out our regularly updated website for news, events, and audition information.
