UTB/TSC Music Academy

The Music Academy at the University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) is an educational service sponsored by the UTB Music Department. We offer students the opportunity to learn and enjoy music within a professional community. Founded in October 2001, the UTB Music Academy offers private lessons, group instruction and performance ensembles for students from ages 2 to adults.

MISSION

The Music Academy provides a service to the local community through musical instruction and performance in order to enhance the quality of life through music participation and enrichment. It offers high quality private and group classes that promote competent musicianship. The Music Academy supports the University's mission of public service and life-long learning.

GOALS

The educational goal of the Music Academy is to provide high quality music classes to the community. The Music Academy offers excellent and accessible music educational opportunities, such as interacting with music faculty, perform at the Arts Center, and also the oportunity to perform with some of the university ensembles.

FACULTY

All of our teachers are pursuing or hold Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral degrees in Music.
