Responsibilities
- Prepare grant proposal packet
- Assist with securing external commitments
- Review grant proposal packet for institutional and funding agency requirements and compliance
- Collect demographic data and information
- Write and/or proofread grant proposal
- Assists with budget development and review proposal budget for accuracy
- Obtain institutional approval prior to submission
- Upload and submit proposals electronically to funding agency
- Mail grant proposal packet to funding agency
- Prepare award packet for account setup
- Review funding announcement for accuracy
- Coordinate training on grants/contracts processes and responsibilities
- Assist Department Chair with project and budget over-sight responsibilities
- Maintain copies of all communications with University
Services
- Search grant opportunities
- Participate in idea generation and proposal development session
- Assist with budget preparation and proposal submission
- Maintain records and provide reports of proposal and award activity
- Provide individual assistance to Principal Investigator
- Assist Principal Investigator in maintaining compliance with funding agencies and University guidelines
Pre-Award
PRINCIPLE INVESTIGATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inform the R&G of the intent to submit a proposal by forwarding the following information to Prisci Tipton
- PI/Co-PI Name
- PI/Co-PI Phone Number
- Funding Agency Name
- CFDA Number
- Submission Deadline
- Proposed Project Title
- Conceptualize and design narrative proposal
- Submit the grant proposal packet to the R&G Office for review and signature routing
Post-Award
PRINCIPLE INVESTIGATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide copy of Award/Contract documents to R&G Office
- Provide program management to meet the intended goals and objectives while adhering to funding agency guidelines and instructional policies and procedures.
- Provide financial management regarding personnel hires, budget expenditures, and ensure that all expenditures are directly related to the project or contract and necessary to meet project goals and objectives.
- Monitor any sub-recipients of project or contract to ensure that programmatically and financially the sub-recipient is meeting project goals and objectives while adhering to agency regulations.
- Obtain understanding of university personnel policies and procedures before hiring personnel assigned to the project or contract.
- Acknowledge requirements for cost sharing that were stated in the project or contract and ensure that requirements are met.
- Maintain timely and accurate time and effort reports and ensure that personnel paid through the project or contract have performed at the level of effort stated.
- Disclose to Chair any conflict of interest that would affect project.
- Ensure that university policies for Intellectual Property, Human Subjects, Animal Care and Use, and Institutional Bio Safety are followed, if applicable.
- Submit all reports on a timely basis
