Mission

The Department of Engineering supports the mission of The University of Texas at Brownsville to provide accessible, affordable, postsecondary education of high quality, and to conduct research which expands knowledge.

The Department of Engineering offers Baccalaureate degrees in engineering physics and engineering technology designed to meet student demand as well as regional, national, and international needs.  The department seeks to improve the human condition through the education of skilled engineers to succeed and lead in industry, government, and commerce, and through development and establishment of internationally recognized research programs.

A spectrum of programs will provide the community with a palette of engineering skills, by educating a broad base of engineering applicants to the various engineering department programs.
