NEW OFFICE LOCATION! LHSB 2.822 and 2.824 - Feb. 16, 2012
The Office of Health Professions Careers has moved from SET-B to the Life Health Science Building (LHSB) 2.824 and 2.822. We are also pleased to announce our new Health Professions Study (HPS) Lab in LHSB 2.820. The HPS Lab will have 30 tutors in biology, chemistry, math and physics available. Please stop by the HPS Lab for tutoring schedule.

We are now accepting application for the Early Medical School Acceptance Program (EMSAP). EMSAP targets students in the graduating high school year. For more information about the program, you can visit our early admissions page. You can download an application from the EMSAP @ UTMB web site.

Applications for the Early Physician Assistant Studies Program (EPASP), in partnership with UTPA, are now open. Students interested in applying for the program should stop by the office to pick up an application. Applicants must meet the program requirements found on our early acceptance programs page.

Premed Students Host AMSA Club Meeting - Sept 28, 2011
The UTB Pre-med American Medical Student Association (AMSA) Club hosted their first member meeting last Friday, Sept 23, 2011. Approximately 30 pre-health students attended. The UTB Premed AMSA club provides opportunities for students to gain shadowing experience, community service and leaderships experience. An important part any pre-health student's resume. Accepting Applications for Two Summer Programs - March 01, 2011

Summer Academic Enrichment Program (SAEP) – targets incoming and returning undergraduate freshman, who have completed NO more than 40 credit hours. Students will attend workshops for critical thinking, chemistry, statistics and probability and study skills and writing for ten days. Classes begin 8 a.m. with a 1-hour (lunch provided) and conclude at 5 p.m. Student who successfully complete the program will qualify for a stipend. Program dates: June 6 – June 17.
Academic and Enrichment Program (AEP) - targets undergraduate sophomores who have completed between 30 – 60 credit hours. The AEP, in partnership with UTMB Galveston, will provide students with workshops in critical thinking, statistics and probability, biology and graduate essay writing.
UTB – UT Health Science Center Houston Medical School sign MOU for Early Admission Program – March 01, 2011
UTB – UT Health Science Center Houston Medical School sign a memorandum of understanding to allow conditional early admissions to UTHSC Houston Medical School. UTHSC Houston Medical School will provide five positions per year. The target student population are undergraduate sophomores. For more information, please stop by our office. We will begin accepting applications in August 2011.

The Office of Health Professions Careers is accepting applications to the Early Physician Assistant Studies Program in partnership with the University of Texas Pan American. The deadline to submit applications is August 31, 2010. Please stop by the office for more information about the qualifications and to pick up an application.
Scholarship deadline EXTENDED
The Office of Health Professions Careers has extended the deadline for the TX Medical Alliance Scholarship for pre-med students and the Premed Merit Scholarship to July 30, 2010. There are a limited number of awards available, students are asked to submit their scholarship application as soon as possible. Visit the Resources page to download an application now.
