Notice: Your PayFlex or FSA Card may not work
beginning July 1, 2009
Effective Wednesday, July 1, your PayFlex or FSA Card could be denied at your local drug store.
WHY? New IRS regulations require drug stores and pharmacies to implement an IRS-approved inventory approval system by July 1. If your local drug store or pharmacy has not yet implemented a system, your PayFlex card could be denied.
Here is the good news. Most drug stores and pharmacies have already implemented the required IRS-approved system. BIG Y, Costco, CVS, Kmart, Kroger, Safeway, Sam's Club, Target, Wal-Mart, and Walgreens are just a few of the merchants continuing to accept healthcare cards, such as the PayFlex Card.
Find out if your location will accept your card by accessing the listing of merchants on the home page of the participant website. Remember, in all cases, the merchant must accept MasterCard in order for the PayFlex Card to work.
