______________________________________ Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice Position Number: FY 10-22 Reports to: Chairperson of Criminal Justice Department Scope: Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice to join our faculty and contribute to our rapidly growing criminal justice program which serves more than 1000 majors. The Criminal Justice Department currently offers a baccalaureate degree in criminal justice with three alternative tracks: correctional administration, police administration, and an online criminology/criminal justice degree through the UT Telecampus. We also offer graduate courses that students use towards the Master of Public Policy and Management degree and towards the Mast of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree offered by the university. We are searching for a dynamic teacher-scholar who can contribute to a rapidly growing criminal justice program and assist in the process of expending course offerings. The position is to begin during the Fall semester (August 2010), though an employment option exists for the Spring semester (January 2010). This is a full-time tenure track position. This is a full-time tenure track position. Position contingent upon funding. Education/Experience: Masters of Science degree in Nursing required. A faculty member holding a master’s degree in a discipline other than nursing shall hold a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited baccalaureate program in Nursing and have at least six (6) semester hours of graduate-level content in Nursing appropriate to her or his teaching responsibilities. Each nursing faculty shall hold a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas and hold a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas and show evidence of same upon request. Each nursing faculty shall carry professional liability insurance. It is required that each nursing faculty has progressive clinical nursing experience necessary to function effectively and safely in her or his area(s) of teaching.
