Hurricane Dean Advisory
Posted: 8/17/07 at 4:30 p.m.

It’s Time to be Aware!

Recent weather models are projecting Hurricane Dean directly in the path of the Rio Grande Valley.

Hurricane Dean is a very fast moving storm that has the potential of becoming a Category 4 hurricane and is projected to head our way. If it continues on this path and speed, it is forecasted to hit the Texas Coast between midnight – 3:00 a.m., Thursday, August 23.

Should this occur, we must be prepared to be in full hurricane preparedness mode when we arrive on campus Monday morning.

We will continue to monitor the movement of Hurricane Dean and will keep you informed of any changes.

We ask that you follow Dean’s progress over the next few days and take necessary precautions that may be needed.

Our next advisory will be issued at 9:00 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2007.
