The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College will sponsor a Food for Fines Drive to help support the local community.

UTB/TSC patrons can donate non-perishable food items in lieu of paying for a parking ticket at UTB/TSC Police Department from December 1 to December 31. 

Donations in amounts equal to the value of the outstanding parking tickets will be considered for citations issued prior to December 31, 2008.

Bring in your donations of non-perishable foods to the Police Front Desk, Cavalry Building, during regular business hours: Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Fridays 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Suggested food items include the following:

• boxed macaroni & cheese
• canned fruits/vegetables
• cans of tuna
• packaged dry noodles
• rice
• soups/chili
• Vienna Sausages/Spam
• etc.

Note: Glass jars, opened containers, bulging cans, items past expiration date, or sample or trial-sized items cannot be accepted for donation due to safety reasons.
