January 15, 2009 - 2:00 p.m. Campus Police is assisting Brownsville Police Department in the investigation of an incident that took place Thursday, Jan. 15, at about 1:30 p.m., at the Stripes convenience store on East 18th street across from campus.
A student was stabbed in the hand while a suspect was trying to take money from her. The student is ok and is being treated by Student Health Services.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his mid 20’s. He was dressed in a white T-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes, spoke Spanish and had a strong body odor. If anyone fits this description contact Campus Police at 882-8232.
Campus Police Department is also asking UTB/TSC students, staff and faculty to remember to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity. |
