Request to Advertise A Vacant Position
Vacant positions, which have been approved to be filled, are advertised on the Employment page of the University’s website. In addition, on request by the appropriate department, vacant positions are also advertised on external job positing sites and print media (newspapers, professional journals, etc.)
Full-Time Staff and Faculty Positions
An Approval for Request to Advertise form is required to advertise a vacant full time staff or faculty position. The form requires the signature of the account manager, the appropriate Vice President, and the Provost. Once approval is obtained, the form is submitted to the Budget Office. The Budget Office forwards it to Human Resources after funding has been confirmed.
The Approval for Request to Advertise form allows departments to indicate the description of the position, additional requirements for employment, as well as, specific recruitment sources where the position should be advertised. An account number and the account manager’s signature on the form are required in order to charge the department for the cost of the posting, if applicable.
All positions will be posted for a minimum of 10 working days on the HR website and the Texas Workforce Commission. Please submit the Approval for Request to Advertise form a minimum of three to four weeks prior to the desired publication date.
