More University Green Projects

Go Green Assistance Center
The Go Green Assistance Center at ITEC office provides tips on reducing our carbon footprint, incorporating sustainable energies, and utilizing green building techniques.

REK Center Solar Panels
The University was awarded a grant to fund the purchase of solar panels, which will generate much of the power needed to operate the facility.

Online Course Schedule
The course schedule is posted exclusively online to reduce the amount of paper used.

Green-Construction Techniques
Insulated concrete forms were used to build the Center for Early Childhood Studies. The insulation provided can reduce up to 75 percent of the building’s monthly heating and cooling costs.

Environmentally-Friendly Caps and Gowns
The campus bookstore sells eco-friendly GreenWeaver graduation regalia, which are made entirely from recycled, post-consumer plastic bottles.

Energy-Efficient Equipment
Renovation projects have included the installation of new energy-efficient light fixtures and the replacement of outdated HVAC units.

Recycle bins for plastic bottles have been placed throughout the campus, and offices are using recycle bins to collect paper.
