Do I have to order from Office Depot or Summus/Staples, or can I also purchase office supplies from other vendors?
It is highly recommended that departments purchase supplies through Office Depot or Summus/Staples; however, employees may purchase supplies from other vendors if they offer a lower price.
Can anyone in my department order from Office Depot or Summus/ Staples?
Only full-time personnel who have a Procurement Card are authorized to purchase from these vendors.
I have a new employee in my office and we need this person to be able to purchase from Office Depot. What needs to be done?
The new full-time employee must complete a Procurement Card Application and submit it to the Purchasing Office. A card will be ordered for them. Once they have the card, the Purchasing Office will assist them in obtaining a user name and password for each vendor.
Who will deliver supplies to my department?
Orders will be delivered to the location (building and room number) specified on the order.
If I order products today, when will they be delivered?
Most orders placed before 3:00 p.m. are delivered the next business day. On occasion an item will not be delivered next day, but the requesting department will be notified of any delays.
What supplies are needed in a hurry, can employees just walk in to Office Depot or Staples and buy supplies with the Procurement Card?
Yes. The University receives the same discounts at retail stores when using the Procurement Card.
