Communications Committee
It is the purpose of this committee to find innovative ways to improve communication efforts between Staff Senate and constituents. Proposals for change are approved by the full Senate.

Exceptional Merit Advisory
Committee charged with reviewing policies and procedures for exceptional merit and annual staff review process. Recommend/negotiate changes to improve policies governing both merit and review processes through appropriate channels.

Fundraising Committees
Proceeds from event help fund the Staff Senate Book Scholarship.
Bowling - Fundraising committee charged with organizing the annual Bowling Tournament. Proceeds from event help fund the Staff Senate Book Scholarship.
Schiltterbahn – Fundraising committee charged with organizing the annual Schiltterbahn Water park event.
Sombrero Fest – Fundraising committee charged with organizing the list of Staff to volunteer for the annual Sombrero Fest.

Review HOOP policies as they relate to staff and make recommendations for changes/updates through appropriate channels.

Institutional Effectiveness Committee
Purpose is to identify measures that evaluate the effectiveness of the UTB/TSC partnership and to assess and report the date related to these measures in a usable form. Membership is composed of students, staff, faculty, TSC Board Trustees, UTB/TSC administration, and community members. All meetings are open to the public.

Nominations and Elections Committee
Meets as often as necessary to complete elections. Membership normally consists of three to four Senators. It is the purpose of this Committee to secure nominees for any vacancies in the Senate, and thereafter to conduct elections. Although nominations/elections take place beginning in April, it is recommended that the Committee review the process in the Fall in order to allow time for implementing changes/upgrades to the system.

Parking Committee
Reviews issues regarding campus parking; makes rulings regarding appeals.

Salary Market Adjustment
Comprised of Staff Senators who will review equity issues related to staff salaries. A salary study is followed in order to complete this project.

TSC Board
The Board of Trustees are delegated, in broad terms, the power and authority to administer the Texas Southmost College District. TSC Board meets once a month, usually on a Thursday at 5:30pm in the Gorgas Board Room.

Tuition Assistance Policy Committee
Committee charge with reviewing the Staff Tuition Assistance policy and make recommendations as necessary for updates to Human Resources Office.

University Council
Meets once a month, usually on the first Friday of every month from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.. Membership consists of the President, Provost, Vice-Presidents, Deans, Chairs, Directors, Academic Senate Chair, Student Government President, and Staff Senate Chair. The main purpose of this Council is to inform everyone of what their particular area is doing. Meetings are conducted in a presentation format, with time allowed for question/answer session and team input. Special guests occasionally make presentations to the Council. This is a non-voting committee.

UT System Employee Advisory Committee
The University of Texas System Employee Advisory Council (EAC) is a selected representative advisory group that works with and on behalf of The University of Texas System. The mission of the EAC is to provide a forum for communicating ideas and information between employees, the Board of Regents, and the Executive Officers of U T. System. Senators sitting on this committee attend three meetings annually (Fall, Spring, and Summer), generally two in Austin and one at a University campus.
