Advising for transfer students
Transfer students are students who have never attended UTB-TSC and have earned college hours at another postsecondary institution. This category will include both students who transfer in to pursue a degree at UTB-TSC and also transient students who enroll for only one semester.
Transfer Students

If no transcipt evaluation of course work is available, the advisor will recommend courses for the first semester, if possible.

Once a transcript evaluation is completed and the student has declared a major, they will be advised to see an academic advisor in the discipline area to work on a program of study.

Students will be required to abide by UTB-TSC policies regarding assessment, TSI
policy, developmental course sequences, and prerequisites.
Transient Students
- Transient students will be advised at the Academic Advising Center.
- Students will be responsible for contacting their advisor at their home institution to seek approval to register at UTB-TSC and to verify transferability of courses.
- Students will be required to abide by UTB-TSC policies regarding assessment, Texas Success Initiative policy, developmental course sequences, and prerequisites.
