Applying for Re-admissions
Submit a completed Undergraduate Admission Application to the Office of Admissions in Tandy Hall 115 or
apply online.
Transcripts
Returning students must submit official transcripts from all other colleges (if any were attended) since their last enrollment.
Residency
Former students who have not attended UTB/TSC for more than a year must submit proof of Texas state residency documents for tuition purposes to the Office of Admissions in Tandy Hall 115. All residency documents must include the student’s name and address and must be dated 12 months prior to 1st class day. Examples of proof of residency:
- Permanent Texas Driver’s License/ID card
- Texas Voter Registration Card
- Texas high school or college transcript
- Property tax statement or receipt
- Lease agreement
- Utility bill
- Employer’s statement (indicating date of employment)
- Canceled check/bank statement
Note: Naturalized citizen or legal resident alien, need to submit to the Admissions office a naturalized certificate or resident alien card.
After submitting an application for admissions, a notification will be sent approximately within a week providing information on the status of admissions to UTB/TSC.
Additional Requirements for Registration
Testing
All students must comply with Texas Success Initiative testing requirements. Check with the Testing Office to determine if any testing is required. The Testing Office is located Tandy Hall 216, (956) 882-8875.
Advising
Returning student are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor prior to registering for classes. Meeting frequently with an Academic Advisor plays an important role in student success. Academic Advising will provide the opportunity to for students to obtain update information on programs of study information, declare a major, receive assistance with course scheduling and registration.
Clear any outstanding institutional debts
In order to be eligible to register for courses individuals will need to clear any outstanding institutional debts. For more information and to make payment arrangements contact the Business Office located in Tandy Hall 107, (956) 882-8202, fax (956) 882-6514.
Additional Information
Scorpion Online
After your application is processed, you will receive notification of your admissions along with other information that will allow you to use the Scorpion Online system. Through Scorpion Online, you will have access to course registration and other important information related to admissions, testing and financial aid.
- Financial Aid
Make sure you complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) early to be considered aid. Make sure to submit the Office of Financial Assistance all documents requested as soon as possible. The priority deadline for Fall is March.
- Student Housing
Students planning to live on campus must complete a housing application. Highlighting living and learning, the Village at Fort Brown provides students with facilities and services that support their educational experience both in and out of the classroom.. All first time applicants must remit a $20.00 housing application fee and a $200.00 deposit to the Business office before the housing application can be accepted. Housing applications are available online.
- Academic Calendar
It is important to become familiar with the academic calendar and deadlines such as registration payment, first class day, add/drop dates, etc. The academic calendar can be accessed via the UTB/TSC website
- Keep biographical information up-to-date
Keep your contact information such as telephone number, mailing and email address with the University up-to-date. Biographical changes to address and name should be promptly reported to the Office of Admissions. Important notices regarding important events and deadlines are sent out several times every semester. Check your email often.
