What kind of institutional data can Data Management and Reporting (DMR) provide? DMR can provide statistical information about students such as basic demographics; course enrollments by department and term; degrees and certificates awarded by program; and semester credit hours generated by level and term. These are the more popular types of data requested. Contact us at dmr@utb.edu for additional types of information that may be available.
Who can request information from DMR? DMR can accept requests for information from UTB/TSC faculty, staff and administration. External requests for information need to be submitted to the Office of Vice President for Business Affairs through the Open Records Policy.
How do I request information from DMR? The requestor needs to fill out a Data Request Form available on-line. This form can also be submitted via fax (956.882.8241) or campus mail (Tandy Hall 233).
What are important items to include in the "Data Request Form"? Provide as much detail as possible in the description of your request, including whether you just need summary totals or a detailed list with specific types of information such as name, address, and major; and most importantly, indicate the semester, academic, or fiscal years needed. When filling out the date required, please include an actual date.
What is the earliest year for which data is available? This depends on the type of data requested. DMR has some reports that contain data from as early as Fall 1986. For some other reports, the time frame begins with Fall 1992, and for others the data is only available from Fall 1999. Contact us to determine if your requested information is available for a particular time frame.
How long will it take for a request to be completed? When filing out the date required, please allow at least five working days from the date that the request is submitted. The requestor will be contacted if additional information is needed to complete the request and/or if additional time is required to complete the request.
Does DMR have any information available on-line? DMR maintains a web page with various types of institutional information from Fall 1992 and forward. Visit our web site at www.utb.edu/em/dmr.
Does DMR publish an Institutional Fact Book? At this time DMR does not maintain a printed Institutional Fact Book. All information is available on-line.
What types of state and federal reports does DMR support? DMR is responsible for coordinating the submission and certification of student and class reports to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. DMR is also involved with completing and submitting the IPEDS Institutional Characteristics, Graduation, Faculty and Staff, Enrollment, and Finance reports on an annual basis.
