Veterans / Dependents Benefits
UTB/TSC is approved by the Texas Veterans Workforce Commission for processing of Veterans' Administration Educational Benefits through all of the following: Chapter 30, 31, 32, 33, 35, 1606, 1607, and Student Work-Study Allowance Program. Hazlewood Act benefits for Veterans and some eligible dependents are also available.

UTB/TSC Parent Institution Letter (PDF)- A veteran/eligible dependents may attend another school and have UTB/TSC be the parent institution for VA educational purposes.

Legacy Act
Eligible veterans may assign unused hours of exemption eligibility to a child under certain conditions. All requests must be submitted to the Veterans Resource Center one month prior to the start of any term.

Hazlewood Exemption
Parent or spouse of a veteran of the U. S. Armed Forces, Texas National Guard, or Texas Air National Guard who died as a result of service-related injuries or illness, is missing in action, or became totally disabled (100%) as a result of service-related injury or illness or is entitled to receive compensation at the 100% rate due to individual unemployability (IU) due to a service-connected injury or illness. All requests must be submitted to the Veterans Resource Center one month prior to the start of any term.
