Information Technology Services is driven by the technology needs of UTB programs and services. Keeping the new mission in perspective, the ITS division will provide centralized campus-wide IT services. These IT services will include Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), support services, online learning, infrastructure services, disaster recovery, project management, and portfolio management.
Governance is emphasized in the new ITS organization, so that more can be done with fewer resources, through a campus-wide process to prioritize and select projects to support the strategic initiatives of the University. IT Project management practices must be adopted institution wide. A Project Management Office (PMO), housed within the Office of the VPIT and CIO will provide project management and IT portfolio management services. All IT projects will be managed by this PMO. IT projects will be initiated through the University Computing and Technology Committee (UCTC), vetted by the Technology Architecture Assurance Committee (TAAC), and approved by Provost Council (PC) as shown in the ITS governance diagram.
