Clair Goldsmith

Welcome from all of us in the Information Technology Services (ITS) of The University of Texas at Brownsville. ITS provides unique services for the institution and your needs as an individual.

ITS consists not only of technology, but a staff of dedicated employees, as well. Both are essential to meet our goal of helping you succeed. ITS strives to provide you with a broad range of services in a distinct academic environment to support teaching and learning, scholarship and research and the administrative and business operations of the University. We endeavor to provide the infrastructure and support necessary to enable you to use information technology effectively, to facilitate the institutional mission to provide accessible, affordable, postsecondary education of high quality, to conduct research which expands knowledge and to present programs of continuing education, public service and cultural value to meet the needs of our community. All these employees that are committed to the success of students and professors, as well of the community, work in the following departments:

  • Instructional & Client Support Services (ICSS)
    Consolidation of Online Learning and the Help Desk parts of USS and Media Services.
  • Enterprise Infrastructure (EI)
    Comprises the department previously known as ITNet and the infrastructure part of Media Services.
  • Cloud & Computing Platforms (CCP)
    Consists of the computer labs operations of USS and the server operations of USS and ACE.
  • Enterprise Application Services (EAS)
    Applications portion of ACE.
