System Support

The User Support Services Department supports, manages, and secures over 90 physical and virtual servers and numerous applications.  Systems supported include Active Directory, SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange, and Talisma.

In November, 2008, the first-place award for Storage Reliability and Data Recovery was presented to UTB at the 2008 Storage Networking World conference held in Dallas.   During Hurricane Dolly, UTB's websites and email system were rerouted to servers in Austin allowing them to remain up during the campus closure.
