Cataloging & Processing
Cataloging
The cataloging unit of Technical Services is responsible for cataloging all material in accordance with professional standards, providing regular maintenance of the library catalog such as adding or withdrawing records to the catalog to ensure patron access to the most up-to-date information, and maintaining a procedures manual of locally developed cataloging practices as well as generating different statistical reports. The library catalogs all type of material such as books, manuscripts, phonograph records, CDs, DVDs and slides using Library of Congress Classification in original and copy cataloging. The cataloging team is composed of two librarians and one student assistant.

In addition, they also prepare material for bindery and repair worn or damaged material. The processing team is composed of one senior library assistant, one part-time employee and one student assistant.
