Early Voting Begins Monday
Early voting begins Monday, April 28 for the Texas Southmost College Board of Trustees election. Registered voters can cast their ballots in Cardenas North Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Distinguished Alumnus recipients announced
The 2008 recipients of the UTB/TSC Distinguished Alumnus Award have been announced. Dr. Ciro Valent Sumaya and Dr. Ruben Gallegos will be honored during Spring Commencement activities in May.
UTB/TSC Brings Home Gold at CASE
The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College received recognition from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education for two publications Wednesday, April 9, at the District IV Annual Conference in Little Rock, AR.

Professor inducted in athletic hall of fame
Dr. Susan Z. Hart, an associate professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance, was inducted Saturday, April 12, into Southwestern University’s Athletic Hall of Fame and Hall of Honor.
Shadow Day On Friday
Students majoring in communications will have the opportunity to stand on the shoulder of giants, to get a glance of their future profession on Friday, April 18, during the third annual Job Shadow Day.
Students headed to New York City to see Pope
Pope Benedict XVI has arrived in the United States for his first visit. Seven students and a staff member will have the opportunity to see him on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20.
UTB/TSC working with county, state on handling suspected tuberculosis cases
The Texas Department of State Health Services has notified the University that two members of the campus community have suspected cases of tuberculosis. Administrators are working closely with state and local authorities in response to this notification.
Memorial Run Benefits Criminal Justice Endowment
Valley residents are invited to participate in the Sgt. Keith A. Ferguson Memorial 5K run Saturday, April 12. The funds raised go to the Sgt. Keith A. Ferguson Endowed Chair in Criminal Justice at UTB/TSC.
