Dr. Sylvia Leal, Vice President for Enrollment Services, said there is still a large number of university students who have not completed their financial aid application process, and staff are processing as many students as possible in the short turnaround time before classes start.

“We encourage students to check their status either by visiting our office, go online or give us a call, so we can review and determine what items are missing to complete their processing,” said Leal. “In our office, it is about a 20-minute wait.”

Students are encouraged to visit the Enrollment Center in the Education and Business Complex to talk to representatives of the offices of Financial Aid, Admissions and Recruitment, Transfer Students, the Registrar and the Vice President for Enrollment Services.

Students can call 956-882-8277 or visit UTB Online and navigate to the Financial Aid link.

So far, about $53 million in federal aid has been awarded to students.

The first day of classes is Monday, Aug. 26.
