Office of the Provost

Welcome to the Office of the Provost.

As provost, I report directly to the university president and am responsible for the administration of UTB. I work with our university vice presidents to develop, implement and coordinate the divisions of the university, ensuring efficient and focused effort toward our strategic goals.

UTB’s strategic goals for 2008-2012 are focused on five priorities:

Research: to expand knowledge through research

Excellence: to promote excellence in teaching and learning

Accessibility and Affordability: to provide accessible and affordable education

Development: to advance academic and economic development for our region

Student success: to enhance student success

In the 2009-2010 academic year, the university participated in a self-study of the first-year freshman experience through Foundations of Excellence. Many people throughout the institution participated on committees to study our freshmen experiences and make recommendations to enhance and improve our students’ first-year for greater academic success. In 2010-2011, the university will be working to implement the recommendations of the report. The full report is available online.

UTB is a unique community university within the University of Texas System, striving for excellence in all that we do. The Office of the Provost is fully engaged and available to you. Feel free to contact me directly.

At UTB We'll Change Your Life.
