Video Phone Services
Two video phones are available to students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. One is in Cortez Hall 120 and the other in Library 2.102.
A video phone is a device that makes it possible for Deaf and hard of hearing people who use sign language to communicate over the phone. If one of the parties is hearing, a video interpreter communicates with the Deaf person using sign language and relays the information to the hearing person by speaking the message. The hearing person uses a regular phone. The process is reversed to allow the hearing person to speak a message to the Deaf person with the interpreter signing the information.
