Tribute to migrant workers and their families
The CAMP display is a tribute to migrant workers and their families, in particular, the CAMP students who continue to work in the fields throughout the summer. This display piece incorporates tools that migrant workers use when performing migrant/seasonal farm work. Feedback was solicited from students on which tools to incorporate and in the end, Dr. Becerra-Barckholtz, Dean of Students along with the CAMP staff and students put together the final piece.
“Through isolating the tools painted in black and using a white background, we hope non-migrant/seasonal farm workers can appreciate some of the dangers involved with performing migrant seasonal/farm work.
For migrant students, we hope the piece will remind them of the hard work they and their families have had to endure and thus inspire them to continue their college education and graduate," Noel Rodriguez, CAMP Director.
