About Us

The Office of Leadership Programs is dedicated to providing motivated students with enriching leadership opportunities, dynamic out of the classroom activities, mentoring and programming opportunities, an inclusive community of student leaders, and strong encouragement and support along the way to commencement—and beyond.

We are part of the mix that makes the University of Texas at Brownsville a wonderful and exciting place to earn a degree. Our students engage in study aboard trips to Russia, Korea, Brazil, and France. Participate in internships at MD Anderson, Tufts University, and in Washington D.C.

Our staff is dedicated to providing individualized advising on personal leadership development, fellowship applications, internships, careers, and graduate schools.

The Office of Leadership Programs houses the University Scholars Program, University Ambassadors, Student Government Association, the Leadership Ring, Ring Ceremony, the Graduation Fair, the Archer Fellowship, the MLK Day of Service Event, Who’s Who Among American Universities and Colleges, The University of Texas System Student Advisory Council (UTSSAC), the Student Leadership Advisory Board, and various leadership programs.
