CERTIFICATES AND DEGREES

UTB/TSC is a hybrid institution where students can start with a certificate program and rise without obstruction toward a graduate degree. At each level, UTB/TSC offers rigorous courses with real-world applications and committed faculty support.

Our schools and colleges offer numerous degrees from the College of Science, Mathematics and Technology, where studies range  from biology to physics while student have the opportunity to work with faculty on cutting edge research in classrooms, laboratories and the Arecibo Remote Command Center, connected to the Arecibo Radio Observatory in Puerto Rico.  Our School of Health Sciences is training health-care workers, from vocational nurses to graduate-level professionals specializing in public health, nursing, and allied health fields. Business students can get degrees at every level, too, with a focus on concurrent involvement with the local business community, including the Matamoros Maquiladora Association. The Criminal Justice Institute offers a Basic Peace Officer Certification training academy, as well as peace officer in-service training, and has produced leaders in regional and national law enforcement. Education students at every level at UTB/TSC (including the doctoral level) are training to be highly skilled professionals ready to assume roles in teaching, research, educational leadership and human development. Our music program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, and our students are asked to perform and compete all over the world. Psychology students learn the critical thinking, technical writing and research skills that will allow them to succeed in that field.
