Eight year plans are designed to provide a seamless transition between high school and The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College (UTB/TSC). All Dual Enrollment students at UTB/TSC are provided an eight year plan that serves as a curriculum guide through four years of high school and four years of college based on a career pathway.
Every student creates a personalized degree plan with the assistance of a counselor/advisor. The student chooses a Career Cluster and Program of Study (POS) degree plan that will guide his or her learning. Career pathways/ programs of study should be updated at the end of each year.
To use this Achieve Texas-Eight Year Plan site, please select the appropriate high school and then select the career pathway desired. Under the career pathways (ex. Business Management and Administration), certificates and degrees offered by UTB/TSC as well as an outline of the academic and technical dual courses offered for dual enrollment (high school and college credit simultaneously) at that high school can be found.
