Prospective Freshmen
The Academic Advising Center serves many different populations at the university. While students are making a decision about which university to attend, we can help them determine what they need to do to be accepted into UTB/TSC.
Our main function at the university is to advise students on which classes to take during their undergraduate years, as well as help students make the transition to university life. There is so much more advisors can help students with should they decide to attend UTB/TSC. Advisors can also help students explore information about the different degree plans offered at UTB/TSC and the resources offered at the university.
Students confused about the selection of a major course of study will receive course selection assistance allowing students more time for growth before committing to one particular field of study. Advisors can direct students to workshops to help improve their placement scores on the THEA/Compass test and help interpret the test results.
