Transfer students are those who have never attended UTB/TSC and have earned college hours at another postsecondary institution. This category includes both students who transfer to pursue a degree at UTB/TSC and also transient students who enroll for only one semester.
Transfer Students
- Transfer students are advised initially at the Academic Advising Center.
- If no transcipt evaluation of course work is available, the academic advisor may recommend courses for the first semester based on an unofficial evaluation.
- Once a transcript evaluation is completed and the student has declared a major, they are advised to see an academic advisor to work on a program of study.
- Students are required to abide by UTB/TSC policies regarding assessment, TSI policy, developmental course sequences and prerequisites.

Transcript Evaluation
Transient Students
A student who enrolls at UTB/TSC for only one semester is considered a transient student. These students are commonly known as "visiting students" who plan to return to their home institution to graduate.
- Students are responsible for contacting their academic advisor at their home institution to seek approval to register at UTB/TSC and to verify transferability of courses.
- Students are required to abide by UTB/TSC policies regarding assessment, TSI policy, developmental course sequences and prerequisites.
