Purpose and Staff
Kids Voting USA-Brownsville is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonsectarian academic instrument for teaching young people, K-12, the basics of responsible citizenship in a free society: know the issues, know the candidates, vote, hold the elected accountable and know why we vote. Kids Voting provides materials and activities for each grade level. It is unique because it combines dynamic classroom teaching with an authentic voting experience, as appropriate to individual grade levels, in all elections–local, county, state and federal–the experience replicating in each instance the official process.
Father Armand Mathew is one of the founders of Kids Voting USA-Brownsville and all of the CCE staff assist Kids Voting USA/Brownsville. The executive director of Kids Voting USA is Ms. Rachel Willis, Kansas City, Kansas.
