Service Learning project: 

I co-organized an event called the “CIS Advising Fair” for students to come and chat to the professors from the Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Department. The event was aimed at freshman/sophomore students to get advised on which classes they could take for the upcoming summer 2010, fall 2010, and spring 2011 semesters. Thanks to Wal-Mart and H-E-B for their donations, I was able to provide snacks and drinks for everyone. Janie Garza and Rocio Gutierrez, secretaries from the CIS department, were there with me to help me with the setup of this event. Involved in this event were most of the professors from the Computer and Information Sciences department and also the department chair, Dr. Juan R. Iglesias.
