Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice

Position Number: FY 10-134
Reports to: Chairperson of the Criminal Justice Department
Scope: The Criminal Justice Department currently offers a baccalaureate degree in criminal justice with two alternative tracks: correctional administration and police administration. We also offer graduate courses that students use toward the Master of Public Policy and Management degree and toward the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies degree offered by the University. We are searching for dynamic teacher-scholars who can contribute to a rapidly growing Criminal Justice program (over 1,000 majors) and assist in the process of expanding course offerings. Education: Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a closely related field (a J.D. alone is not sufficient). ABD’s will be considered if graduating by the official hiring date.
Experience: Applied experience in the criminal justice system and/or teaching experience will be considered favorably. All applicants should possess a commitment to excellence in the classroom, a willingness to serve the University and the community, and the promise of scholarly productivity.

Assistant/Associate Professor of Music Theory

Position Number: FY 10-133
Reports to: Chairperson of the Fine Arts Department
Scope: Teach undergraduate and graduate music theory with a secondary area of expertise in one of the following areas including jazz, applied instrumental, applied voice, collaborative piano or early music. Expectations of the position also include school and university service. Recruitment of new students is considered a responsibility for each faculty member. Perform other duties as assigned. This is a tenure-track position.
Education: Ph.D. in Music Theory required.
Experience: A demonstrated excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated ability in recruitment.

Assistant Professor of Spanish Translation

Position Number: FY 10-137
Reports to: Chairperson of Modern Languages
Scope: Teach undergraduate and graduate level classes in English-Spanish Translation (4 undergraduate courses/semester with load reduction based on graduate teaching). Assist in the coordination and advising of the AA, BA and Graduate Certification programs. Successful candidate must be familiar and willing to teach Translation Technologies (CAT) and teach online courses. Ability to teach conference interpreting a plus. This is a tenure-track position. Position beginning August, 2010.
Education: Ph.D. in Translation Studies or Ph.D. in Spanish with MA in Translation Studies is required. ABD candidates will be considered. 18+ Graduate hours in French is a plus.
Experience: Must have an active research/scholarly agenda.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
