Dr. James Frost
James Frost is an Associate Professor in the Department of English with specializations Composition, Technical Communication, and Business Communication. He is currently serving as the Director of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) for the University.
Prior to his arrival at the University of Texas Brownsville, he was the Director of the Programs in Professional Writing at the University of Illinois Urban Champaign. He has also served in administrative and teaching positions at the University of Minnesota, Boise State University, Texas A&M University (where he received his Ph.D. in English), and the University of Texas Pan American (where he received his Masters in English). In addition to his academic background, he founded Black Canyon Communications, a publishing company in Idaho, which received the 2002 Idaho Book of the Year Award from the Idaho Library Association. His research interests include Environmental Rhetoric, the Rhetoric of Entrepreneurship, and Writing Program Administration.
