Biography:
Jenny Ashley, Lecturer of English, comes to the English department from the university’s Learning Enrichment, where she was a Learning Instructional Specialist for the Writing Lab. Her responsibilities included the hiring and training of writing tutors, the developing of academic writing workshops, the maintaining of budgets, and the supervising of tutors.
Ashley was the co-editor for the Journal of South Texas English Studies from 2010-2011, has presented several papers at conferences such as the CCTE Conference in Beaumont, TX, the UTB/TSC Research Symposium, and the EGADS! Graduate Conference in 2009 and 2010, and she also presented a workshop for the Brownsville Historical Association about the history of love letters.
Ashley also played volleyball for the women’s team at UTB/TSC from 2004-2007.
