Biography:
Professor William Harris, presently the chairperson of the Department of English, has been with UTB/TSC for more than 16 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in English from The University of Texas-Pan American. In addition, he is A.B.D. in English at Texas A&M University in College Station. Professor Harris has served in many capacities on the campus, most notably as director of Honors Studies and president of the Academic Senate. Professor Harris maintains an active interest in 18th century studies, alternative history, military history and science fiction, as well as genre studies in the origins of the British novel. He has published and presented many papers on a wide variety of topics, including border studies and higher education.
