Ms. Alix Riviere, M.A.
Department of Modern Languages
Alix Riviere is a Lecturer in French for the Modern Languages Department and currently teaches Elementary French I and II. Although she received a Master’s of Arts in History from UTB in 2011, her first Master’s degree from La Sorbonne University in Paris (2010) was in Language and Civilization, with an emphasis on English. This multi-disciplinary educational background was especially useful when she team-taught with Dr. LaLonde a senior-level class on the French Enlightenment (Fall 2010), which focused on French literature and philosophy.
In the summer of 2011, Alix Riviere was lead faculty during the Study Abroad program in Paris and taught a senior-level class on French Civilization, in which students were required to think critically and discuss Parisian architecture in relation to historical and artistic periods.
