Biography:
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Dr. Díaz holds a B.S. in education from the National University at Cordoba, Argentina, and a master’s and a Ph.D. in Hispanic languages and literatures from the University of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Dr. Díaz is an associate professor in the Modern Languages Department at UTB/TSC in Texas on the U.S.-Mexico border.
Her area of specialization is children’s literature in Spanish. She designed, developed and currently teaches children’s literature courses to future teachers. She is currently writing a textbook on children’s literature in Spanish.
Dr. Díaz also teaches Spanish-American Theatre, Contemporary Spanish-American Short Story and Cinema and culture, among other courses. She is the founder of the Grupo de Teatro Universitario “La Ventana” and co-founder of the University Cinema Club.
