Biography:
Dr. Lucy G. Willis holds a B.A. in Spanish & English and a M.A. in Spanish from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, and a Ph.D. in Spanish Education from the University of Texas in Austin. A professor in the Modern Languages Department, she has taught grammar, composition and children’s literature at UTB/TSC for the last 37 years. She was the liaison between UTB and area school districts in the development of the Challenge for Excellence Endowment Scholarship. For over 15 years she directed the Spanish for Faculty and Staff initiative and accompanied professors to Cuernavaca, Morelos in Mexico for the intensive study of Spanish at the Center for Bilingual and Multicultural Studies. She also served as Director of the Dual Language Program for the last 7 years. She has traveled extensively in Latin America and Europe, and enjoys participation in a variety of sports.
