Please join us for the 29th season of The University of Texas at Brownsville Patron of the Arts. Patron of the Arts was created in 1984 to provide our community and students with opportunities for learning and enrichment by attending live events by professional guest musicians and visual artists. Patron of the Arts was also intended to provide a venue for faculty and student performances to showcase the considerable talent we have in the Rio Grande Valley.
This season’s exciting line-up includes New York City Metropolitan Opera mezzo soprano Margaret Lattimore and the return of the Horszowski Trio, a violin, cello and piano trio from New York City. In addition to their recital, the Horszowski Trio will join the UTB Symphony Orchestra to present Beethoven’s magnificent Triple Concerto. William Kanengiser, guitarist from the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, and the Boston-based Atlantic Brass Quintet are among the other outstanding guest performers that will be featured this year. The season also includes a full slate of Department of Music faculty in solo and chamber music recitals. Finally, the Brownsville Guitar Festival is scheduled for March 27-29 of 2014; Patron members will be among the first to receive information about this terrific event.
Download the 29th Season brochure for highlights of all the guest artists who will take the stage of the TSC Arts Center this season, including a fascinating and provocative selection of visual art offerings. It is only with your ongoing support that we can continue to bring these superlative concerts and art exhibitions to our local community. We look forward to seeing you for the 2013-14 season.
Thank you for your support of the arts in Brownsville!
