Students will take one course for three-hours credit. There will be three two-hour classes before we leave for Vienna. These classes deal with important introductory information, and are thus mandatory for all students in the program. While in Vienna, class will be held most mornings, and there will be two short quizzes there. After returning, students will submit a journal notebook of their daily experiences, including concert/opera evaluations.
Undergraduate students will take MUSI 2310 Special Topics in Music: Music in Vienna.
Graduate students will take MUSI 6308: Advanced Studies in Music Literature.
In addition to the requirements of the undergraduate class, graduate students will also be required to write a 10-15 page research paper relating to the composers, musical institutions or music experienced on the trip.
