Cooperative education
UTB/TSC's Cooperative Education program offers all qualified students, regardless of major, an opportunity to enhance their academic preparation, acquire valuable work experience, earn money, and explore a variety of career options.
The Co-op program is designed to offer students meaningful work experience to meet their personal and educational goals. Many students combine full-time study with full-time paid employment in a field that is closely related to their major. Students are required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week while enrolled in Co-op. Terms synonymous with Co-op include internship, field experience, externships, practicum, work experience, and on-the-job training. The following are just a few positions in which students can be placed:
- Administrative Software Specialist
- Administrative or Executive Assistant
- Data Entry Clerk
- General Office or File Clerk
- Legal Assistant or Paralegal
- Legal Secretary
- Accounting or Bookkeeping Clerk
- International Operations Clerk
- Customer Service Representative
- Manager Trainee
- Medical Front Office
- Medical Coding and Billing Specialist
- Medical Office Management
- Retail Salesperson
These experiences are supervised by distinguished experts in their fields and other leading professionals. Students who receive supervision from their more experienced mentors improve their knowledge and skills. At work and at school, UTB/TSC Co-op students are motivated.
